This is the best bang for the buck you can possibly get in the San Mateo area nowadays. Yes this is a true hole in the wall type of mom and pop shop.
Don't get this one confused with the New Wing Fat down at the plaza. This is the original one with the original menu and one of their most known items is their BBQ pork.
It's super cheap and quick and fixes your cravings for Chinese food. They have a few dine in tables and street parking. Parking isn't easy though.
In terms of food, portions are generous and quality is consistent. Not top notch though.
I do recommend their BBQ pork and any of their chow mein dishes. Do avoid the chow fun and meat dishes. Sort of bland. Aside from that, you can't find anything better on the menu for around $7-8 per dish.
Same review I posted earlier , but wrong account. -

This place is in a good location next to the movie theater and right off the freeway. No parking lot so you have to park on the street but the food is worth it! My favorite is the bbq pork, fried rice, and bittermelon with beef. This place looks old school so you get an authentic vibe. Great food and service. 5 stars

This place defines "hole in the wall." Small local, what appears to be family run, place with really good food. If you're looking for fancy, go elsewhere. If you want good food, come here. That said the chow mien was a touch greasy and I think I'll stay with the chow fun for a "noodle" option. Don't miss out getting the pot stickers, yummm.

Decided to try this place after plugging in "Chinese" in Yelp. The place is (I apologize in advance) your stereo typical family Chinese Resturant's in the US. Speak to them in Cantonese & your food will likely be slightly better/fresher/larger. These type of 1st generation immigrant businesses have put the next generation through law or medical school many many times & I always try to support them. Besides, it's cheap comfort food & they always have a seat.
On the service side, expect zero. If they look at you when you're talking to them it's a plus. It's clear to these businesses that they have no ability to compete using social/cultural niceties so they have usually given up. It's food quality & price. That's usually why it's usually men who eat at these places because men care a little less about service. -

Been eating here since I was a young one! Love the lunch and dinner specials! Bbq pork is bomb! Cash only but trust me it's worth it
